Vermont Center for Photography Artist Residency 2026
The Vermont Center for Photography (VCP) is launching an inaugural residency program in 2026, based at the center's facility in Brattleboro, Vermont (10 Green Street). The residency runs two weeks — October 23 through November 6, 2026 — with the resident receiving a $500 creation stipend, a 14-night stay at the nearby Latchis Hotel (a four-minute walk from VCP), and 24/7 access to the center's darkroom, digital lab, and lighting studio.
The residency culminates in a one-month solo exhibition at the Picker Print Gallery within VCP, with an opening reception on November 7, 2026. The combination of facilities access, accommodation, modest stipend, and built-in solo show distinguishes the program from purely studio-based residencies — the work made during the residency moves directly to gallery walls.
Eligibility is open to photographers and lens-based artists at any career stage working in analog, digital, or hybrid processes. The selection committee gives priority to applicants who would benefit from VCP's specialized equipment or who face barriers to similar facilities elsewhere — financial, spatial, or technical.
The application fee is $25 ($15 for VCP members). Applications require a CV/résumé, project proposal, and 10 to 15 work samples. The deadline is June 30, 2026 (11:59 PM EST), with notifications sent July 31, 2026.
