Loghaven Artist Residency 2027

Loghaven is an artist residency on 90 acres of woodland at 1001 Loghaven Drive in Knoxville, Tennessee. Artists are housed in five historic log cabins that have been rehabilitated and modernized, with access to purpose-built studio space on the grounds.

The 2027 program runs across six sessions of varying lengths: a four-week February cycle, a six-week April–May cycle, a two-week June cycle for fellows only, a two-week July cycle for teaching/faculty artists, a two-week September cycle, and a four-week October–November cycle. Applicants choose their preferred session at submission.

Financial support is unusually substantive for a residency: an $850 per week living stipend for the duration of the stay, a sliding-scale travel subsidy of $400–$800, and up to $200 reimbursement for materials shipping. Disciplines accepted include visual arts, writing, dance, music composition, theater, and interdisciplinary work.

Eligibility is restricted: artists must be at least 21 years old, hold U.S. work authorization, live at least 120 miles from Knoxville, and not be enrolled in a degree-seeking program. International artists are not eligible. Two professional references are required.

The application fee is $25, with waivers available June 1–July 15. Applications open June 1 and close July 15, 2026 at midnight Eastern Time. The selection panel — a national committee of artist peers and arts professionals — meets August through September, with applicants notified by November 1.
