About Open Calls
How Monographica curates and verifies opportunities for photographers and visual artists.
Monographica Open Calls is an editorial directory of submission opportunities for photographers and visual artists. The site focuses on exhibitions, grants, residencies, awards, publications, portfolio reviews, and education programs with clear deadlines or rolling application windows.
How calls are selected
Calls are gathered from official organization pages, organizer announcements, newsletters, public listings, and reader submissions. Listings are prioritized when they include enough practical information for artists to decide whether an opportunity is relevant: deadline, fee, prize or outcome, location, eligibility, submission requirements, organizer, and application link.
Verification
Before publication, details are checked against the official call page where possible. Many detail pages show a "Verified by Monographica" date; that date records the most recent editorial check in the local verification log. Because organizers can change deadlines, fees, juries, or eligibility after publication, each listing links to the official source and asks readers to confirm details before applying.
Updates and archives
The directory is updated regularly as new calls are found and existing calls are checked. Open calls are shown first across the homepage and browse pages. Closed calls may remain accessible for reference, but expired listings are not promoted as current opportunities.
Corrections
If a listing is wrong, outdated, duplicated, or missing important context, send the official source through the submit form. Corrections are handled from the official call information rather than from secondary summaries.
