WSP Artist Residency 2027

Two-week fully funded residency in New York City for a woman street photographer, March 29 – April 12, 2027. The package (valued at about $8,000) covers a studio apartment at El Barrio's Artspace PS109 in East Harlem, a round-trip ticket from anywhere in the world, visa fee, subway pass and SIM card, and a $50 daily stipend, plus daily reviews and mentorship with Nina Welch-Kling. The resident produces a solo exhibition shown during the annual Women Street Photographers group exhibition and takes part in the WSP Festival in NYC (April 9–11, 2027), a panel discussion and an Instagram Live interview. Submit a cohesive series of up to 10 images with an artist statement explaining the project and why the residency matters to you — statement and images are weighted equally. Street photography is preferred; other genres are considered if the statement connects to street work. Up to three series per photographer, each on its own form. Photographers who cannot afford the fee, or who live in countries affected by US sanctions, can request one free entry form by email.
