Fieldwork Photo Journal — Issue Two: The Embodied Weight of Place

Fieldwork Photo Journal is an independent print publication founded by Sam Angel. Issue Two — The Embodied Weight of Place — works from the premise that place is never experienced neutrally: landscapes, interiors, and built environments carry histories that shape how they are physically felt by the people moving through them.

The featured photographer for Issue Two is Kristine Potter, whose work on the American South and the mythology of landscape sets the editorial register for the open-call selections. Up to 30 photographers are selected for the issue alongside the featured contribution.

Selection co-judged by Sam Angel and Kristine Potter. AI-generated work is not accepted.

Submission terms: $25 fee covers up to 6 images; additional images are $5 each, up to a 12-image maximum. Files must be JPG only, longest edge 1500px at 150 dpi. Submission is through JotForm.

The 2026 deadline was May 6, with results announced June 3, 2026. Publication is scheduled for Fall/Winter 2026.
