The City Series: London — Shutter Hub Editions Publication

The City Series is an ongoing publication series from Shutter Hub Editions exploring the people, places, and cultures that shape cities worldwide. Each volume is built around a single city; following the inaugural Cambridge edition, the next volume turns to London.

The brief is interpretive rather than documentary. Rather than documenting a location as a fixed subject, the series invites photographers to respond to a city as an idea — something experienced, observed, imagined, and interpreted through the photographic eye.

Selected images are featured in a printed 100-image photobook produced by Shutter Hub Editions, sold through shutterhub.org.uk and selected stockists. Shutter Hub does not pay royalties or supply free copies; the reward is inclusion, attribution, and promotion across Shutter Hub networks, with selected photographers invited to a launch event in London on 20 November 2026.

Submission terms are accessible: pay-what-you-can entry with a £15 minimum, and free submissions available on request for photographers with limited income. The call is open worldwide, with up to 10 images per submission.

Submission is through the Shutter Hub website. The deadline is 24 September 2026 at 5pm UK time; selections are communicated within 12 weeks of the deadline.
