diptych/triptych/multiples/collage
A Smith Gallery's juried online exhibition for work built from more than one frame — diptychs, triptychs, multiples and collages. The gallery's premise is that diptychs tell stories, triptychs tell larger stories, and multiples and collages tell larger ones still. Juror Manuela Thames is a Saint Paul–based photographic artist, born and raised in Germany, whose largely self-taught, contemplative practice explores loss and grief, generational trauma, belonging and connection; her work has been recognised by the Monovisions Awards and a Julia Margaret Cameron Award, and she teaches for Santa Fe Workshops, SE Center for Photography, Maine Media and LACP. Jurying is blind. Up to 47 images are selected for the online exhibition and catalogue, with 27 chosen for 'The 27', a hardbound fine-art book. The Juror's Award and Directors' Award each carry an online solo exhibition, 'The 27' and a blog feature; a Visitors' Award of $100 goes to the most Instagram likes. Photographers submitting 13 or more images receive a complimentary director review. Open to professional and amateur photographers worldwide in all photographic mediums; work previously exhibited at A Smith Gallery is ineligible. Online exhibition 1 November – 31 December 2026, reception 28 November.
