Conversaciones — EMC Magazine Print Edition Open Call
EMC Magazine is an Argentine independent photography publication based in Buenos Aires. "Conversaciones" is the magazine's recurring open call program — the 2026 cycle returns in a new printed format after three earlier virtual editions. The editorial premise is in the title: the editors are seeking images that speak to each other across the issue's pages, with selection emphasizing visual dialogue rather than thematic cohesion.
There is no thematic restriction on submitted work. Each participant submits up to 5 images, analog or digital, with no requirement that images be previously unpublished. Submissions go through WeTransfer at low resolution for review; high-resolution TIFF files (300 dpi, RGB) are required if accepted, named in the format Name_Lastname_01.
Selection is by the EMC Magazine editorial team. Selected participants receive one printed copy of the magazine. International participants cover their own shipping costs. Authors retain intellectual property; EMC Magazine receives non-exclusive usage rights for this printed edition only.
Entry fees are split by region to reflect Argentina's economy: 5,000 Argentine pesos for Argentina residents (paid via Mercado Pago), USD $5 for international participants (paid via PayPal). Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee selection — the editors stress this explicitly.
Submissions must be original work owned by the photographer; if recognizable people appear in images, participants must secure consent. The 2026 deadline is May 15; the printed magazine publishes July 2026.
