Bethany Arts Community — Fall Multidisciplinary Residency 2026

Bethany Arts Community is an arts nonprofit based in Ossining, New York — a Hudson River town about an hour north of Manhattan. The Fall Multidisciplinary Residency is one of several themed residencies on its annual calendar.

Twelve artists are selected for a two-week residency running September 22 through October 6, 2026. The residency is multidisciplinary by design: photographers sit alongside writers, filmmakers, performers, and visual artists working in any medium.

What's included: a private studio, a private room, three meals daily, and a $450 stipend. Application is free.

There's a community program component built into the residency — each resident facilitates one program for the local Ossining community during their stay. This shapes selection: applicants submit not only their work but a proposal for the community workshop or event they'd run.

Eligibility is open to artists 21+. Application requires one letter of recommendation and one reference. Funding comes from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts. The 2026 deadline was May 6; results announced June 26, 2026.
