APhF Pick:26 Book Award
APhF Pick:26 is the annual juried photobook award from the Hellenic Centre of Photography, run as part of Athens Photo Festival. The award is restricted by edition rather than category: open to photobooks worldwide produced or published between January 2025 and March 2026, with a minimum edition of 100 copies.
The 2026 jury is built from major institutional photography figures: Katerina Gregos (Artistic Director, EMST), Marta Weiss (Curator of Photography, Victoria and Albert Museum), Joan Fontcuberta (artist), Katy Hundertmark (Curator & Editor, Foam), Cécile Sayuri Poimboeuf-Koizumi (Publisher, Chose Commune), and Sylvia Sachini (Curator, APhF Book Program).
Selection structure has multiple tiers. The winner receives a €2,000 cash prize and inclusion in the main Athens Photo Festival exhibition programme at the Benaki Museum. Ten photobooks are featured in the APhF:26 print catalogue. Twenty shortlisted books are exhibited at the Benaki Museum / Pireos 138 venue. All submitted works are added to the APhF Library and Athens Photo Research Center.
Submission is hybrid: an online entry form (cover image, project description, artist biography) plus mail two physical copies to the Hellenic Center of Photography in Athens. Fee is €25; €15 for each additional project by the same applicant.
The 2026 deadline was April 28; results announced June 16, 2026.
