Villa Lena Foundation — Artist Residency 2027

Villa Lena Foundation operates an artist residency from a 19th-century Tuscan villa on a 500-hectare estate near Pisa. The 2027 program runs residencies of 4–5 weeks between April and October. Multidisciplinary by design — artists across visual arts, photography, music, writing, and performance work alongside one another.

The residency provides a private studio, accommodation in a renovated farmhouse on the estate, and half-board meals five days per week. Beyond the basics, residents have access to ceramic and wood workshops, a screening room, and a program of weekly excursions in the surrounding countryside.

The cost structure is unusual: residencies are not free. Artists pay a €150-per-week residency fee that covers room, studio, and meals. Residents are also required to donate a completed work to the Villa Lena Foundation collection at the end of their stay.

Eligibility is open to artists of all disciplines and any career stage. Application requires a PDF portfolio, submitted via Google Forms. Application fee is €21. The 2027-cycle deadline was May 3, 2026; results announced November 2026.
