Under Many Moons: Asian and Pacific Islander Art, Identity, and Community

Juried exhibition at Sebastopol Center for the Arts presented with AAPIC North Bay and the Many Moons Festival, the annual autumn gathering in Sebastopol that uplifts Asian American and Pacific Islander culture, creativity and community. The show explores identity, heritage, belonging and cultural expression. While it centres AAPI voices and perspectives, artists of all backgrounds engaging thoughtfully with the themes are invited to submit work reflecting personal and collective narratives shaped by culture, place and lived experience. All media, photography included. Entry is $35 for one application of up to three images, with $10 for each additional application. Work must fit through a 7' by 7' gallery door and on an 8-foot wall; the centre's installation team can hang selected pieces. Juror Patricia Wakida is a community historian, linoleum block carver and letterpress printer who apprenticed as a papermaker in Gifu, Japan. Work must have been made in the last five years and not shown at SebArts before. Notifications 14 August; exhibition runs 26 September – 11 October 2026 with an opening reception on 26 September.
