Stove Works Artist Residency 2027
Stove Works is an artist residency and exhibition space in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Each year it invites eight artists to live and work on site between February and November, for stays of one to three months at a time. The program is open to all disciplines, explicitly including photography, and also accommodates non-object-based practices such as writing, curating and academic research.
Once accepted, the residency itself is free to attend. Residents receive a private studio/bedroom with a bathroom, shared kitchen, living space and laundry, and around-the-clock access to fully equipped metal, wood and print shops as well as a library. Programming over the residency period includes visiting critics and open studios. Residents are responsible for their own travel, materials and food, and on acceptance provide a $100 refundable security deposit and one inscribed book for the library.
Applications for 2027 residencies are open from 15 May to 15 June 2026, with a tiered fee of $10 (15–31 May), $20 (1–7 June) or $30 (8–15 June). International applicants are welcome.
