Stanley Greene Foundation Emerging Photographers Grant 2026–2027

The Stanley Greene Foundation Emerging Photographers Grant honors war photographer Stanley Greene, a co-founder of Noor Images who covered conflict zones from Chechnya through West Africa. The Foundation administers the grant in his name, with explicit emphasis on supporting visual storytellers from underserved and diverse communities at the beginning of their careers.

The grant is $10,000, paid in two installments: $8,000 upon award and $2,000 upon completion of the project, contingent on submission of 15 final digital images and a written report detailing how the funds were used. The completion materials become part of the Foundation's archive. The two-stage payment is designed to ensure projects are actually carried through.

Eligibility requires applicants to be 18 or older and not currently enrolled as students at the time of submission, though those graduating before the decision date may apply. One proposal per person; collaborators are accepted. AI-generated imagery is not permitted in the work samples.

Applications are made through Picter and require a biography (up to 1,500 characters), project description (up to 2,000 characters), project proposal (up to 3,000 characters), and up to 25 images at 72 dpi JPG, sRGB, minimum 1,500 pixels on the long dimension. Selection is by a three-member jury drawn from the Stanley Greene Foundation Board, which meets twice — first for finalists, then for the final decision. Applications open May 1, 2026 and close July 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM EDT. Winners announced August 10, 2026.
