Photobook Feature — In Focus

Photobook Feature — In Focus is Der Greif's open call for photobooks to be featured in the platform's Articles section. The selected book receives a dedicated editorial write-up rather than just inclusion in a list — the prize is sustained editorial attention.

There is no fixed theme. Selection is based on the book itself: strong conceptual thinking, thoughtful sequencing, and an engaged relationship to the medium of the book. The selection is interested in books that think about being books, not just collections of photographs.

The call is broad in publishing context: self-published photobooks, artist books, zines, experimental publications, and small-edition press titles all eligible. Books currently in dummy or mock-up stage are not eligible — Der Greif requires finished, produced publications.

Submission requires photographs of the physical book plus a vertical flip-through video (max 2 minutes, 1080×1920 MP4). Submission is through Picter. Fee is voluntary (PWYC) — €10 suggested, hardship vouchers available by emailing voucher-special@dergreif.org. Eligibility is open globally. The deadline is June 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM CET.
