The Colour Library: Yellow — Shutter Hub Editions Publication

Shutter Hub is a UK-based photography organization that runs an artist network, exhibition program, and publishing imprint. Their publications are held in the collections of the British Library, the V&A, and the Portuguese Center of Photography, which gives Shutter Hub-published work an unusual archival afterlife — books stay on shelves long past the moment they're released.

The Colour Library is a curated photobook series published by Shutter Hub Editions, with each volume dedicated to a single color and the emotional, symbolic, and visual associations it carries. The Yellow edition welcomes any approach to the color — bold monochromes to subtle glows, conceptual to documentary, the joyful and the cautionary — provided the work is family-appropriate.

Selection is for 100 images. The published book is perfect-bound A5 portrait (148×210mm) on 140gsm matte paper with a 350gsm cover. Featured photographers receive a credit listing with a link to their website on a dedicated promotional page on the Shutter Hub site, and the book is distributed worldwide through Shutter Hub's bookstore network and into national collections.

Submissions are pay-what-you-can with a £15 minimum donation; free submissions are available on request for photographers with limited income. Each photographer can submit up to 10 images as JPEGs (300dpi, CMYK, max 5MB, sized for A5 portrait), with filenames structured as lastname_firstname_imagetitle.jpg. The deadline is 5pm UK time on July 16, 2026; selection is announced within 12 weeks.
