Musée du quai Branly Photography Award 2026
The Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac is the major Paris museum dedicated to non-Western art and ethnography, located on the Seine. The annual Photography Award is the museum's commission program for original photographic works to enter its permanent collection.
Eligibility is restricted: open only to non-European artists. The structural premise inverts the usual flow — rather than European institutions collecting work from elsewhere, this program funds non-European photographers specifically.
Three artists are selected each cycle. Each receives €30,000 plus production support and travel to Paris.
The work made under the grant enters the museum's permanent collection — an acquisition rather than a fee.
Submission is through Picter with a project proposal. Application is free. The 2026 deadline was March 15; results announced July 30, 2026.
