John Chervinsky Emerging Photographer Scholarship 2026
Annual scholarship from the Griffin Museum of Photography honouring photographer and scientist John Chervinsky, recognising emerging photographers with the potential to build a sustained body of work and solo exhibitions. The recipient receives a $3,000 cash award, a solo exhibition at the Griffin Museum, and a volume from Chervinsky's personal library of photography books. Open to photographers without gallery representation who have not had a solo exhibition in a commercial, academic, organisational or museum gallery — coffee shops, community galleries, libraries and academic thesis shows are eligible settings — and who have not received grant funding over $3,000; those enrolled in a photography degree programme may apply only in their graduating year. Entry is free: submit ten photographs in intended viewing order along with a bio/CV, a statement of artistic purpose and a statement on the work. The submission window opens 1 October 2026 and closes 22 November 2026, with the awardee announced by January 2027.
