XVIII Festival di Fotografia a Capri — Viaggi e Miraggi

Festival di Fotografia a Capri is an annual photography festival on the island of Capri organized by Fondazione Capri, now in its 18th edition. The 2026 theme is Viaggi e Miraggi — "Journeys and Mirages" — chosen to mark the 200th anniversary of the rediscovery of the Blue Grotto, the sea cave that became the symbol of Romantic-era travel to Capri. The brief invites work that treats photography as the medium between physical journey and imagined place: pilgrimages, returns, displacements, and image-making as a kind of mirage in itself.

Submissions are free. The winning project is exhibited at the Certosa di San Giacomo, the 14th-century Carthusian monastery that serves as Capri's main cultural venue. Production and installation costs are covered by Fondazione Capri.

The festival proper takes place in August 2026, with workshops and educational programming following in October. The selection is curated by Denis Curti — a longtime Italian photography critic and curator who also sits on the Le Stanze della Fotografia jury — and Fondazione Capri's program team.

Open to photographers worldwide, both professionals and amateurs. Submissions are made by email as a single PDF in a .zip archive (maximum 10MB). The 2026 deadline is July 5; winners are announced July 13.
