Earthly Fabulations
Earthly Fabulations is Der Greif's Earth Day open call, themed around deconstructing the landscape photography tradition. The brief asks lens-based artists to interrogate how landscape has been seen, framed, and idealized — and what alternative ways of looking might surface.
Selected work is shown in an ephemeral online exhibition on Der Greif's platform — displayed for one month before being archived rather than featured permanently.
Eligibility is restricted to emerging artists. The fee is voluntary — €10 suggested but not required.
Selection is by Der Greif's editorial team: Caroline von Courten (Artistic Director), Francesca Hummler (Community Manager and Program Curator), Ilaria Sponda (Managing Editor and Project Manager), and Carolina Semprucci (Graphic Designer and Assistant Editor).
Submission is through Picter with 1–10 images. The 2026 deadline was April 8; selection announced April 22, 2026.
