Annual Open Juried Show 2026
The Brazosport Art League's annual open juried show, hung in the League's gallery at The Center for the Arts & Sciences in Clute, Texas from 11 August to 13 September 2026. Photography is one of six judged categories — 'photography wall hung printed on any medium' sits alongside a separate class for digital-created art and enhanced photography, plus work on canvas or panel, work on paper or Yupo, wall-hung mixed media, and free-standing 3D. Open to all artists; work must be original, made entirely by the entrant within the past two years, and no copies of published material or of other artworks are accepted. Prints of originals are permitted only in the digital art and photography categories. Up to three pieces may be entered, wired for hanging — saw-tooth hangers are accepted only where a frame cannot be wired. Entry is by physical take-in at the Art League Studio on Saturday 1 August, 12–3 PM, with early drop-off accepted in the gallery vault alongside the paperwork and fee. Juror Carl Dalio is a Bay City painter and signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society and Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Society; he may jury work out of the show with comments. Beyond the $500 overall award, each category carries a $100 blue award, with $75 red and $50 white awards where a class draws 15 entries, plus unlimited green honourable mentions; categories drawing fewer than five entries may not receive awards at all. A reception and awards presentation follows on Friday 14 August, and work is collected after 2 PM on 13 September.
