Women's Studio Workshop — Studio Workspace Residency

The Studio Workspace Residency is the lower-funded sibling of Women's Studio Workshop's flagship Studio Residency Grant — designed for artists who want concentrated time and access to WSW's facilities without the full grant package. The residency lasts 4 to 6 weeks.

WSW provides housing and studio space at no cost; artists cover their own travel, materials, meals, and personal expenses. Studio orientation is included, with WSW staff available for general assistance and deeper technical help available for additional fees. Some materials can be purchased from WSW.

Studio options are the same five WSW spaces: intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, screenprinting, or darkroom photography. Eligibility is open to artists at any career stage.

Application is free. Applications go through Submittable using the regular Studio Residency Grant form with the "Studio Workspace Residency" box checked. The 2026 application window opens February 15 and closes May 15 at 11:59 PM EST; results announced July; residency takes place September through June, 1–2 years after application acceptance.
