Women's Studio Workshop — Anita Wetzel Residency Grant 2026
The Anita Wetzel Residency Grant is Women's Studio Workshop's age-specific track of the Studio Residency Grant program — reserved exclusively for mature artists aged 45 and older. The grant honors the legacy of Anita Lynn Wetzel.
Funding and structure mirror WSW's main Studio Residency Grant: 4 to 6 weeks of residency with a $350 per week stipend, up to $500 for materials, and up to $250 toward travel within the Continental US. Free on-site housing is included, with 24/7 studio access throughout the residency.
Studio options are the same as the regular Studio Residency Grant: intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, screenprinting, or darkroom photography. Residents work independently on their own practice but may request studio assistance from WSW staff.
Eligibility is restricted to artists 45 years and older. There is no application fee. Applications go through Submittable using the regular Studio Residency Grant form with the "Anita Wetzel Residency Grant" box checked. The 2026 application window opens February 15 and closes May 15 at 11:59 PM EST; results announced July; residency takes place September through June, 1–2 years after application acceptance.
