The In Between

Detroit-rooted online gallery Ninety-Seven Modern invites emerging artists to submit black-and-white work exploring the transient nature of the in between — the dual realities most of us live in at any given moment: recollection and the present, anger and love, stagnation and momentum. Black and white is framed as a reminder that both can exist together, with or without a fight for dominance. All mediums are welcome. Entry is a flat $5 for up to three works, submitted by email with a third-person bio; the gallery does not accept AI-generated imagery. Ninety-Seven Modern also lists selected artists' original works for sale through its shop.
