35 Under 35 — 2nd Annual Juried Exhibition

Second annual 35 Under 35 exhibition from the Blacksburg Regional Art Association, a 150-member group founded in 1950, in collaboration with community galleries and the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech. The show exists to put emerging artists on the walls of established gallery and museum spaces and to help them find their way into the wider art community of curators, gallery owners and collectors. Thirty-five works are selected and shown November 2 to 20, 2026 at the Center for the Arts on the Virginia Tech campus, with an artist and awards reception on November 20. Juror Laura K. Higgins, Curator of the Permanent Collection and Special Projects Officer at the Taubman Museum of Art — previously at Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, Gladstone Gallery and Petzel in New York — presents Best in Show ($300), 2nd Place ($200), 3rd Place ($100) and honourable mentions at her discretion. Open to artists living in Virginia who have not turned 35 by November 2, 2026; any medium except AI-generated work. The $5 fee covers up to three works. Two-dimensional work must not exceed 40 inches in either direction.
