The Female Show 2026

Munich Art Gallery is located in the Kunstareal, Munich's central museum quarter. The Female Show is its annual group exhibition for national and international female artists. The 2026 edition runs October 15 – November 14, including Lange Nacht der Münchner Museen — Munich's annual long-night-of-museums event.

Curated by Josephine Kaiser & Team. The brief explicitly seeks contemporary art by women beyond gender stereotypes and thematic clichés. Smaller formats are preferred — up to 50×50 cm — for the gallery's hanging space.

Eligibility is restricted to women artists. Application is free, with no participation or exhibition fees. Selected artists cover only their international shipping cost.

Submission is by email with a single PDF (max 5 pages, 5 MB) containing short CV, artist statement, approximately 5 example images, Instagram, and website. Applications accepted in English or German.

The 2026 deadline was April 8; results announced June 8, 2026.
