Tasweer Residency 2026–2027: As the Image Unfolds

The second edition of the residency from Tasweer, Qatar's photo festival organised by Qatar Museums. Three emerging photographers and visual storytellers based in Qatar, aged 21+, are selected for a five-month residency (1 October 2026 – 1 March 2027) at Bayt Al Wakrah in historic Old Al Wakrah City. Built around the concept of 'athar' — an Arabic word for traces, imprints and legacies — residents develop a project across documentary, conceptual, or experimental image-making. Each receives studio space at Bayt Al Wakrah, mentorship and professional development, access to local networks, and a monthly stipend of 4,000 QAR. Completed projects are presented in the exhibition 'As the Image Unfolds — The Language of Athar' during the 2027 Tasweer Photo Festival, accompanied by an online zine documenting the process.
