Source Writing Prize 2026

Annual writing prize from Source, the Belfast-based quarterly of contemporary photography, open to writers who have not previously written for the magazine. Submit one original, unpublished piece of up to 700 words about photography from any angle — a book or exhibition review, an introduction to a photographer's work, or a historical, aesthetic, cultural, or philosophical take on the medium. The winner receives £500/€570 plus publication in Source or a future paid commission; shortlisted entries are also considered for publication and commissions. Chosen by editor Richard West and Source staff. Deadline 5:30pm GMT.
