She Speaks

Juried exhibition at the Tolleson Art Gallery — a free exhibition space inside Tolleson Public Library, west of Phoenix — celebrating the creativity and artistic voices of Arizona women. Artists who are women or who identify as female are invited to share work reflecting their experiences, ideas and creative vision across all styles and themes; photography is explicitly welcome alongside painting, sculpture, mixed media, digital and textile work. Entry is free and open to Arizona artists of all backgrounds and experience levels. Each selected artist receives a $100 stipend to exhibit, rising to $575 for artists who also present a public program of at least an hour — a workshop, artist talk or demo (optional, not required to submit). The gallery also runs a visitor drawing during the exhibition in which one attendee receives an exhibited artwork purchased for up to $500. Submissions include a brief artist statement of up to 250 words connecting the work to the theme. On view October 23 – December 10, 2026.
