RED
Dusk Gallery is a Santa Fe, New Mexico photography gallery founded by fine art photographer Holly Hart, who also juries the gallery's calls. RED is a themed cycle built around a single color used as compositional force: images where red commands the frame rather than appearing as background or detail.
The brief is open across approach — documentary, fine art, abstract, and experimental work are all welcome. The gallery is interested in the use of red as a structural element of the photograph, not in subject matter alone.
What distinguishes Dusk's calls is the production model: the gallery covers professional printing and framing in 24×24 inch black museum-quality frames with matting at no cost to the artist. Photographers supply only a high-resolution JPEG (500KB–5MB, 4500px on the longest side); the gallery adjusts presentation dimensions without cropping the composition.
The exhibition runs August 7–28, 2026 at Dusk Gallery in Santa Fe. Sales split 50/50 between gallery and artist, with selected images retained in the gallery's flat files for six months post-exhibition. The entry fee is $40 for 5 images or $45 for up to 10. Eligibility is open worldwide to amateur and professional photographers. The deadline is June 25, 2026.
