PN Awards 2026 — Book Prize & Project Grant

The Photography Network is a membership-based academic and curatorial organization for photography scholars, historians, curators, and artists. The PN Awards run two parallel programs: the Book Prize and the Project Grant.

The Book Prize honors innovation in photography scholarship, expression, and distribution. Eligible work includes edited volumes, exhibition catalogs, photobooks, and scholarly monographs — the prize is open to authored or edited work by current Photography Network members. The structure is unusual in that it treats the photobook as scholarship rather than purely as artistic output.

The Project Grant supports emerging scholars, curators, and artists with funds to complete works in progress — publications, articles, exhibitions, or research projects. Both programs require English-language submissions.

The 2026 jury comprises Lucy Gallun (Curator of Photography at MoMA), Ileana L. Selejan (Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh), and Giulia Paoletti (Associate Professor at the University of Virginia). The deadline is June 15, 2026, with results announced December 2026. Specific prize amounts are not published on the awards landing page; applicants should contact the awards coordinator (photographynetworkawards@gmail.com) for current details.
