Photography+ Emerging Talent 2026
Photoworks is a Brighton-based UK registered charity and Arts Council England National Portfolio organization, one of the longstanding institutions in British photography. "Photography+ Emerging Talent" is the open call for Photography+, Photoworks' digital platform exploring how photography intersects with everyday life.
The call is open internationally to BA and MA graduates and to image-based artists within the first five years of their practice and/or their graduation. Submission is free. Each applicant submits up to 15 images from a single project with a statement of no more than 200 words; only one project per applicant.
Ten awardees are selected. All ten are featured in the Photography+ online magazine and showcased in an evening projection at the Kranj Foto Fest in Slovenia. One awardee additionally receives a one-year Photoworks membership plus curatorial and editorial mentoring; another receives a £200 Spectrum Photographic printing voucher plus an Instagram takeover on the Photoworks account.
The 2026 jury comprises Emma Bowkett (Director of Photography, Financial Times), Louise Fedotov-Clements (Director, Photoworks), Fernanda Prado Verčič (Founding Director, Kranj Foto Fest), Maryam Wahid (Head of Programs, Tasweer Photography Festival), and Amin Yousefi (Assistant Curator/Editor, Photography+). Submissions go through Picter; the deadline is June 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
