Outdoor Photography Magazine — Local Landscapes

Outdoor Photography Magazine is a UK-based monthly print magazine published by GMC Publications Ltd, focused on landscape, nature, and outdoor photography. The magazine runs themed reader competitions in each issue, with the "Local Landscapes" call (issue OP 329) inviting photography of UK and Irish locations.

The brief is in the title: photography of local landscapes — work made close to where the photographer lives or travels, rather than landmark or destination work. The framing rewards intimate familiarity with a place over wide-angle ambition.

Up to 5 images may be submitted per applicant, each accompanied by captions of up to 75 words and full technical details (camera, lens, focal length, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, handheld or tripod). Files are JPG at quality 10 or higher, 300ppi, up to 46 cm on the longest side, in RGB color (Adobe RGB preferred). Filenames must begin with the photographer's full name.

Submission is free. The winner receives Sunski Ferrata sunglasses (RRP £149.95). Selected photographers are published in the print magazine with full credit. Eligibility requires that submitted images be the photographer's own work, with all model and property releases obtained where required. The 2026 deadline is midnight, May 31, 2026; results within 10 weeks.
