Opulent Mobility 2026

Opulent Mobility is an international annual exhibit that asks artists to re-imagine disability as opulent and powerful rather than merely functional. The 2026 focus is disabled joy — as the call puts it, at a time when rights are being dismantled and images erased, deliberate acts of joy are powerful and essential. Curated by founder A. Laura Brody with disability arts activist and photographer Anthony Tusler, and supported by the Numotion Foundation. Two-dimensional and sculptural work, music files and performances on digital media are all accepted; photographers may submit digital files rather than shipping prints, which makes the show genuinely open to international entrants. A flat $20 fee covers gallery rental and insurance for up to ten works, and is waived on request if it causes hardship. The exhibit runs December 6–20, 2026 in person in Los Angeles and online; the gallery takes 30% of any sale. Accessibility is built in: artwork descriptions in text and audio, and ASL interpreters at the opening and the online artist talk.
