Night Aesthetics
Night Aesthetics is a thematic open call on Fotografiska Emerging — the photography platform run by Fotografiska, the international photography museum with locations in Stockholm, Tallinn, New York, Berlin, and Shanghai. The 2026 edition is run in partnership with Jägermeister.
The brief asks photographers to engage with the visual world of the night — light, movement, atmosphere, intimacy, and the energy that appears when the day lets go. Subject matter is open: a crowded dance floor, a quiet street, or anywhere between. Lens-based photography in all forms, including analog and digital. AI-generated work is not accepted.
Three winners each receive €2,500 plus a feature on the Fotografiska Emerging platform.
The 2026 jury is Atiba Jefferson (staff photographer at Thrasher Magazine and Canon Explorer of Light), Karl Hab (photographer working in aviation, architecture, and fashion), and Julia Schoierer (Berlin-based portrait and street photographer).
Eligibility is open globally to photographers 18+. Submission is one image per entry through the Fotografiska Emerging platform. Application is free. The 2026 deadline was April 30; results announced May 20, 2026.
