JUST ADD WATER

JUST ADD WATER is a themed open call from Art Fluent, the Boston-based curatorial platform. The brief is the element itself: oceans, rain, rivers, puddles, or even just a hint of blue — work that engages with water as subject matter or as metaphor.

Cash prizes total $1,250: a Best of Show award of $750 and two Director's Choice awards of $250 each. All accepted work is displayed in the online gallery on art-fluent.com. Selection is curated by Creative Director Amy Matteson Neill and an anonymous committee.

Entry fee is $25 for the first work and $10 each additional, up to a maximum of 20 entries per artist. All fine art mediums are accepted: painting, sculpture, photography, video, digital art. AI-generated work is not accepted, and previously exhibited work at Art Fluent is ineligible.

Submissions go through CaFÉ (callforentry.org), which requires a free artist account. Open globally to amateur and professional artists. The 2026 deadline is June 5 (midnight MST), with notifications by July 2.
