Hasselblad Foundation Nature Photography Grant 2026
The Hasselblad Foundation Nature Photography Grant supports photographic explorations of nature, landscape, and environment. The 2026 edition awards SEK 100,000 — paid as financial support for the project rather than as a fixed-deliverable commission.
The Hasselblad Foundation was established in 1979 by Erna and Victor Hasselblad to support research and teaching in natural sciences and photography. It administers grants and stipends as well as the Hasselblad Award.
Eligibility is restricted by Nordic ties: applicants must be a citizen of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, or Iceland — or a permanent resident of a Nordic country who is a citizen elsewhere. Individuals or groups may apply, and collaborative and interdisciplinary work is encouraged.
Selection criteria foreground originality and creativity, environmental focus, critical perspectives, biodiversity, and human impact on nature and climate. Recent grantees include Ivar Hagren and Weronika Bela (2024), Sara Linderoth (2022), and Emanuel Cederqvist (2020).
The 2026 jury is Mats Björkman (Senior Lecturer, University of Gothenburg), Andréas Hagström (Archive/Library Manager, Hasselblad Foundation), Jenny Nordquist (artist and curator), and Louise Wolthers (Head of Research and Curator, Hasselblad Foundation). Applications are submitted through Picter. Application is free; deadline May 8, 2026 at 9:59 PM. Results announced July 15, 2026.
