Graz Residency for International Photographers (GRIP) 2026
Camera Austria is the photography institution and quarterly journal based in Graz, Austria — long-running, internationally distributed, with both a publishing arm and an exhibition space. The Graz Residency for International Photographers (GRIP) is a joint initiative with Kulturvermittlung Steiermark. The 2026 edition is the fifth cycle.
The residency runs one month in Graz and is built around access rather than production output. Residents work on an ongoing project or develop new material, with access to Camera Austria's research library — over 11,000 volumes on photography and contemporary art. The residency concludes with a presentation in Camera Austria's exhibition and library space.
Eligibility is open to international early-career artists working with photography and/or lens-based arts. Stipend is €1,000.
Application is by email — informal statement of purpose plus a PDF portfolio. Application is free. The 2026 deadline was April 30; results announced end of May 2026.
