Folk House Darkroom Residency 2026

Bristol Folk House Darkroom is a community darkroom in central Bristol (40a Park St), run as part of the Bristol Folk House and working towards more sustainable photographic processes.

The 2026 residency is aimed at photographers and artists using or wanting to explore experimental, sustainable, and alternative photographic processes — for example, making developers from plant material or other low-impact darkroom approaches. The dates and length of the residency are flexible and decided by the resident based on the darkroom's term schedule.

Selected residents receive a stipend, darkroom training, darkroom space and equipment, and discounts in the Folk House café and programme.
