Evolution Grant
The Evolution Grant is a recurring unrestricted grant from Art Fluent, the same Boston-based curatorial platform that runs themed open calls like HER.SELF and Manipulation & Illusion. Each grant cycle awards $1,000 to one visual artist with the funds explicitly unrestricted — applicants do not need to propose a specific project, and the grant can support any expense that enhances the artist's ability to make work (materials, studio rent, equipment, time off).
Selection is on the body-of-work submitted rather than a single project pitch. Applications require 5 to 20 pieces, an artist statement, and a bio. The 2025 recipient was Mark Guglielmo. Once awarded, artists cannot reapply.
Eligibility is open worldwide to amateur and professional artists. All fine art mediums are accepted except AI-generated work; copies and instructor-guided pieces are excluded.
The application fee is $35 (non-refundable). Submissions go through CaFÉ (callforentry.org), which requires a free artist account. The June 2026 cycle deadline is June 19, 2026 at midnight MST; results announced by July 31.
