Eco-Process Artist Residency 2026
The Eco-Process Artist Residency is a one-month summer residency program produced by grunt gallery in collaboration with Blue Cabin Cooperative. Blue Cabin is a floating artist residency in Metro Vancouver, on the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
The residency runs August 2026 and is technique-specific. The program focuses on eco-processing and alternative photographic techniques: phytogram, lumen printing, cyanotype, and other sustainable photographic processes that minimize chemistry and material waste.
Mentorship is part of the structure: up to three sessions with interdisciplinary artist Morgan Sears-Williams during the residency period. The selected artist receives a $3,500 fee for the month.
Eligibility is layered. Open to emerging artists with some photo or lens-based experience. Geographic restriction: Metro Vancouver and Indigenous territories/reserves connected to the region. Priority is given to LGBTQ+ 2S (Two-Spirit) emerging artists.
Submission is through Google Form with a portfolio. Application is free. The 2026 deadline was May 1; results announced mid-May 2026.
