Current Works 2026
The annual juried exhibition of the Kansas City Society for Contemporary Photography, a long-running nonprofit devoted to contemporary photographic practice in the Midwest. Current Works sets out to show what photographic artists are doing now, and the call explicitly welcomes a broad range of styles and processes — digital, film, alternative process, black and white or colour — representing the diversity of photographic excellence in the region. Open to residents of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas; work must have been produced between 2024 and 2026 and be built on the entrant's own original photography, with no AI-generated imagery. KCSCP members receive 20% off the entry fee, and students can request a discount code. The 2026 juror is John W. Hans, a Kansas City photographer of nearly fifty years and Director of Production at Dolphin Archival Printing inside Haw Contemporary, whose own abstract, landscape-rooted work is held in the H&R Block and Kansas City International Airport collections. Selected work is exhibited November 12 – December 31, 2026.
