Crowded Table

Juried exhibition at OVERLAP Art Space, a contemporary gallery in Newport, Rhode Island, on food and community — the cultivation, preparation, display and consumption of food, and the habits and traditions of nourishment and gathering. A range of mediums and subject matter is welcome, from topical work to functional 'tools for gathering'; the atmosphere is celebratory yet thoughtful. Jurors are Lesley Baker (Ceramics Department Head, RISD), Bob Dilworth (2025 Joan Mitchell Fellow, Professor Emeritus at University of Rhode Island), and Harry Philbrick (Executive Director, Newport Art Museum). Submit 1–3 images of 1–3 artworks with a short statement (max 250 words) on how the work relates to the theme. Exhibition November 14 – December 19, 2026; the holiday-season show is a fundraiser supporting OVERLAP and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. The title comes from The Highwomen's 2019 song.
