CCI + WOPHA Fellowship 2026

The CCI + WOPHA Fellowship is a joint program from the Green Family Foundation Caribbean Cultural Institute (CCI) at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and the Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA). The fellowship is structured around the intersection of Caribbean visual culture and women's photographic practice — both organizations have established institutional remits that this fellowship explicitly bridges.

The fellowship runs September through November 2026 in a hybrid format. The first month (September) is in-person at El Espacio 23, a contemporary art space in Miami's Allapattah district owned by collector Jorge M. Pérez. The remaining two months are remote, with continuing curatorial support from CCI and WOPHA.

Eligibility is restricted to emerging and mid-career women and nonbinary photographers from the Caribbean or its diaspora. The fellowship defines photographic practice broadly — including cameraless processes, computational and augmented techniques, and image archiving and circulation alongside conventional photography.

The fellow receives a stipend (amount unspecified on the public page), production funds up to $4,000, round-trip airfare to Miami for the in-person residency if the fellow isn't based there, and access to PAMM's curatorial resources and networks plus engagement with the academic community at FIU-LACC.

There is no application fee. Applications go through SlideRoom and require a cover letter, CV, artist statement, project proposal with budget and timeline, and a portfolio dossier (up to 3 media files). The 2026 deadline is June 1 at 11:59 PM EDT.
