Canon Female Photojournalist Grant 2026
The Canon Female Photojournalist Grant is a long-running grant administered by Visa pour l'Image, the international photojournalism festival held annually in Perpignan, France. The grant is run in partnership with Canon, which provides primary funding. The 2026 cycle is the grant's 26th edition — among the longer-running specifically female-centered photojournalism awards.
The winner receives €8,000 to support the completion of an existing long-term documentary project or to facilitate the making of a new one. Beyond the cash, the winning project is exhibited at the Visa pour l'Image festival in Perpignan, September 2026 — Visa pour l'Image is one of the most prominent photojournalism festivals globally, drawing photo editors and agencies from around the world.
Eligibility is restricted to professional female photojournalists. There are no age or nationality restrictions. Submissions are free of charge. Each applicant submits 10 to 20 images of a documentary project, with project description and biography.
The 2026 application window is March 18 through May 19, 2026. The winner is selected by a jury of industry experts in June, with the public announcement coinciding with the festival in September.
