Black and White Photo Awards 2026
The Black and White Photo Awards is an international competition exclusively for black-and-white photography, now in its fifth edition. The total prize pool is over €5,500.
Submissions are accepted across six categories: Architecture, Street, Portrait, Fauna and Flora, Landscape, and Open Theme (new for 2026). Each €15 registration entitles the photographer to submit five images in one category, and applicants may submit to multiple categories with separate registrations.
Cash awards: an Absolute Winner receives €1,500, with each of the six category winners receiving €200. The Street and Portrait category winners additionally receive access to the Retouch4me photo editing suite. At least 15 honourable mentions are also recognized. Winning and finalist images are published in the annual Black and White Photo Awards book — the printed catalogue functions as the long-term archive of each year's selection.
The 2026 jury comprises Joel Tjintjelaar (B&W fine-art photographer), Julia Anna Gospodarou (architecture photographer), Charles Paul Azzopardi (President of the Malta Institute of Professional Photography), Kazutoshi Kawakami (IPA Awards winner), and Néstor Rodan (Victory Photo Serbia Awards winner).
AI-generated work is not accepted. Eligibility is open to professional and amateur photographers worldwide aged 18 or over. The 2026 deadline is June 15.
