Americana

Juried exhibition in the East and West Carnegie Galleries at Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan, asking what America looks like through your eyes. Beyond the familiar shorthand of rolling farmland, front porches, Main Streets, county fairs and open roads, the call invites work that celebrates, questions, reinterprets or expands American identity — drawing on place, community, music, labour, history, culture, memory, migration, celebration, resilience and everyday life. Works may be literal or abstract, traditional or experimental; all media are welcome, photography included, and artists at every career stage are encouraged. Open to artists 18+ resident in the US Great Lakes region — if your state has a Great Lakes shoreline, you are eligible. Up to three works made in the last three years, $30 entry. Exhibition 4 September – 3 October 2026.
