59 Rivoli — Artist Residency 2026

59 Rivoli is an artist residence in central Paris, located at 59 rue de Rivoli — directly between the Louvre and the Place du Châtelet. The building started as an illegal squat in the late 1990s and has since been formalized as an official Paris artist residence. It hosts 30 artists across multiple floors of free open studios that are visited daily by the public.

The residency runs six months. The 2026 cycle begins in May. Eligibility is open internationally to visual artists and sculptors of any age.

The structural premise distinguishes 59 Rivoli from most residencies: studios are open to the public during gallery hours, with thousands of visitors per week. Residents work with that exposure as part of the practice.

Application is free, made through Google Form with a single PDF dossier. The 2026 deadline was April 17.
