Young Greek Photographers 2026

Young Greek Photographers is an annual juried exhibition organized since 1987 by the Hellenic Centre for Photography. It runs as part of Athens Photo Festival.

Eligibility is restricted by age and ties to Greece: artists up to 35 years old who reside permanently in Greece, or Greek artists residing abroad — the Greek diaspora is included.

Selected works are exhibited at the Benaki Museum / Pireos 138 in Athens (June 10 – July 26, 2026), then travel to Thessaloniki. Production costs are covered; selected works are included in the festival catalogue. Beyond the exhibition: portfolio reviews with international professionals and nominations for international festivals. Two finalists are also offered places in the Photoxenia artist residency program in Crete.

The 2026 jury is Natasha Christia (independent curator, writer, educator), Yorgos Prinos (visual artist), Stamatis Schizakis (Curator of Photography and New Media, National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens), and Marilia Fotopoulou (Head of Programming, Athens Photo Festival).

Applicants may submit up to two projects, with separate forms for each. Application is free, through the festival's website. The 2026 deadline was April 28; results announced May 10, 2026.
