W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography 2026

The 46th annual grant from the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund (established 1979), awarded to a photographer whose past work and proposed project continue Smith's tradition of humanistic, concerned photography. The recipient receives $30,000 ($24,000 on award, $6,000 on delivery); two finalists receive $10,000 each. Open to photographers 18+ of any nationality, professional or non-professional (students apply to the separate Student Grant). Submit a bio, project description and proposal with up to 40 images. The call opens July 1, 2026.
